How to Set Your Goals So that You Achieve Them

As we approach the end of the year we all tend to review the goals that we had set for the year, how much we have achieved and most importantly, which ones of our goals we didn’t achieve, while re-evaluating for what we would to do in the new year.

It is a fact that most people at the beginning of the year set some kind of goals with determination and full of drive to work hard to achieve them. However at the end of the year, only a very small percentage of people who were so determined a few months before, actually achieve what they set out to – what differentiates one group from the other?

What differentiates them is now proven by the latest scientific research to be the basic ingredient of success – the programming of your subconscious mind.

Modern research has proven that our brain is an incredible system, which can help each person achieve anything they want life if they learn to use it in the right way. By understanding better how the brain works, we can achieve the goals we set easier and faster.

What happens with the brain when setting goal is better understood by explaining the difference between the conscious mind, the part of the mind which gives you the ability to think and choose what you want and the subconscious mind which works on the ‘background’ depending on how it is programmed and causes you to take certain actions towards achieving or not achieving your goals. Basically the subconscious mind is responsible for more than 95% of all the actions you take, so whatever decisions you make and goals you set, you will never achieve them if your subconscious mind is working against those goals.

In order to program your subconscious mind into helping you take the right actions to achieve those goals, there is a certain procedure for working with your goals which will help you achieve them faster and easier than ever before. Here is a basic outline of the procedure.

Goal Setting for Goal Achieving formula:

1. Writing Down Precise Goals – Spend some time to write down the 10 to 20 most important Goals for the next one year and write them down as precisely and as clearly as possible. Add as many details as possible and use words which help you have the feeling of achieving that goal. At this stage, don’t worry about how you will achieve those goals, the ‘how’ will show up later and this is the role of the subconscious mind which will be working to help you. It is key to set goals that make you excited and write it out as if you have already achieved this goal ie I am now earning 50,000 USD per month residually from my work and I am proud and happy that I am helping myself and my family, live a financially free, stress free life. Write every little detail about the emotion of achieving that goal will produce to you, your family, and your loved ones. You can do goals for all areas of your life: Health, Wealth, Relationships, Work and Spirituality.

2. Affirmations to Support the Goals – Affirmations are declarations which help support your goals and create new beliefs. Write powerful affirmations which support each of your goals. For example, if your goal is to earn 50,000 USD per month from your business, write powerful affirmations, which create new beliefs about yourself as a person who can achieve this goal ie a great one that I love from Dr Demartini ‘I am a Master of Persistence, I do what it takes’.

3. Repetition – Emotionalizing the goals: Repeat the goals every single day either first thing in the morning or last thing in the evening, when you are in a relaxed meditative state. You can use meditation music which relaxes you to achieve this state. The most important part of this process is emotionalizing each goal, feeling the feelings that you would be feeling if you had already achieved this goal. This is how we imprint the goals in our subconscious brain. In the beginning, this will feel uncomfortable, as your brain will try to tell you that these declarations you are making are not true or possible and you might be tempted to give up. The key here is to not give up the daily exercise. In order to imprint a goal or a new belief in the subconscious mind, it takes a minimum of 30 to 90 days daily repetition. Long term daily repetition strengthens the goals and affirmations and eventually makes them your new reality, something like creating new software in the brain.

4. Meditation & Visualization – When you repeat each goal, take some time to close your eye and play a mental movie of what your life looks like when this goal is achieved. Use feelings and emotions. The brain cannot tell the difference between an imagined experience and a real one, so during visualizing this experience you are having, the brain believes that it is already your new reality and helps you act in ways which will attract the new reality faster.

5. Take daily inspired action – Remember that nothing will happen unless you take action on your goals. When you follow the procedure described above, you will be stronger and more confident and will start attracting the right conditions and opportunities to achieve your goals. When the opportunity presents itself to you, take action! Take action every single day as inspiration will come to you through ideas on how to achieve your goals.

If you are new to goal repeating, visualizing and meditation, is not important to understand how everything works, especially at the subconscious level, when you start the process. It took me years of studying, practicing and attending seminars to understand how the subconscious mind works.   Just know that this system works, it is scientifically proven and start taking the first steps.
